Massive explosions filled the sky. Someone might have gasped at the spectacle, but not Yooseong.

‘So it’s come to this, as expected.’

He’d more or less predicted it, but seeing it in person, Yooseong couldn’t help but feel disappointed.

‘I went through all that trouble modifying these…’

The cannons he was using now were modified howitzers from the other world, upgraded according to the walkthrough using all the intel he’d gathered. But even those couldn’t do anything to the giant kaiju.

    ‘Well, whatever.’

Yooseong halted the barrage. As the thunderous noise ceased, a heavy silence seemed to settle in.

Released from the threat of shelling, the kaiju and beasts surged toward Yooseong’s position en masse. Yooseong continued to watch the screen, waiting.

At last, the kaiju and beasts began cresting the mountain ridge that Yooseong had been using as his shield. Once they could see Yooseong with their own eyes, they rolled their eyes back and charged madly at him.

    “Hmph!”

It looked threatening, but Yooseong snorted. The robots waiting near the ridge all fired their lasers at once.

    Pew-pew-pew-pew-POW!

The beasts were shot through and collapsed. For kaiju immune to lasers, railgun shots punched through their entire bodies.

The army of kaiju and beasts was definitely threatening, but that was only if Yooseong were alone. Now, Yooseong’s own forces were formidable enough to be called an army, with plenty of weapons and supplies.

Just as the giant kaiju had trampled Yooseong’s robots, Yooseong’s force trampled the kaiju and beasts.

Even as they suffered huge losses, the enemies kept charging, but at some point, they stopped. None crossed the ridge anymore, and the survivors retreated over it.

Maybe the giant kaiju had given the order.

    The battle entered a lull.

    Thud! Thud! Thud!

The giant kaiju itself kept advancing toward Yooseong, having only pulled back its underlings. Its pace was quite fast, but the rugged Gaema Plateau terrain meant the distance covered wasn’t great.

It began to climb over one of the mountains blocking its path.

    “Now!”

    Yooseong ordered again.

    Boom-boom-boom-boom!

Cannons thundered once more. Robots stationed near the ridge also climbed the mountaintop.

To avoid the robots’ attack, kaiju and beasts that had been waiting on the far side of the slope were caught on camera. The robots immediately trained their weapons on them and opened fire.

    -Kiaaaak!

    -Kyaaaaaaak!

Kaiju and beasts screamed in pain, charging at the robots. But they couldn’t break through the curtain of fire from the massed robots.

    BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!

Meanwhile, shells rained down on the kaiju and beasts in the rear. Since they’d clustered together, waiting to rip apart Yooseong and his robots at the first chance, their casualties soared exponentially.

But the giant kaiju couldn’t shoot down the shells like before. The mountain it was climbing blocked its line of sight and angles of attack; it couldn’t even see, let alone fire.

This was exactly why Yooseong had chosen this place for battle.

Eventually, whether by new order or not, the kaiju and beasts started falling back again.

But the high-angle cannons kept shelling the places where they retreated.

With the walkthrough instantly calculating trajectories, the robots being so much stronger and faster than any human, and the modified howitzers, the combination let him hit kaiju and beasts hard and fast.

The enemy began to scatter, spreading out to minimize damage.

But the losses kept adding up.

They only made it out of the shelling once the giant kaiju, now having climbed the summit, started shooting down the shells again.

    BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!

From the high ground, the giant kaiju fired crimson beams at the robots attacking its followers.

But as soon as he saw it shooting down shells, Yooseong pulled his robots back below the ridge—so the beams only hit the mountain and Yooseong’s robots were unscathed.

Again, silence fell over the battlefield.

Yooseong focused on the giant kaiju’s next move.

    ‘Now, what’ll you do?’

Would it come at him in a straight line again? Or choose something else?

There were still several mountains and valleys between Yooseong and the giant kaiju. If it advanced straight again, he could just bombard it again when it entered a new valley.

But the monster chose the other option.

    Rumble, rumble!

Its lower heads pushed against the ground as it moved, but it didn’t descend the mountain. Instead, it traveled along the ridge, always keeping a firing angle open.

    ‘Smart one.’

Judging by its direction, it was clearly heading for the highest peak in the area.

Given its traits, that was a smart move: up high, its crimson beams would be especially effective.

But it couldn’t attack every spot from there. The Gaema Plateau had plenty of other peaks almost as high.

Yooseong’s current spot was similarly shielded—even if it reached the highest point, there was no risk of being attacked here.

But his mobility was somewhat limited.

    Thunk!

The giant kaiju climbed onto the highest summit, anchoring several of its heads in the ground and raising its body as high as possible.

    Zap-zap-zap-zap!

It fired lasers all around, smashing the cameras Yooseong had installed.

    His view was limited now.

    ‘Stay calm. I expected this.’

Cameras in places out of its firing line survived. But now, with the monster perched at the highest point, those cameras became half as useful.

Through the cameras that survived, he could still watch the movement of the kaiju and beasts.

They moved along routes the lasers and railguns couldn’t hit—out of direct lines of attack.

Mountains were an obstacle to Yooseong, too, not just the kaiju.

‘Well, the advantages outweigh the problems.’

Now that the kaiju had made its move, Yooseong made his.

‘Should I begin for real now?’

The kaiju and beast horde was still moving, but after their recent retreat, they were scattered.

That made them less threatening—much better than having them bunched up. They’d need some time to regroup.

    So did the giant kaiju.

By taking the high ground, it now threatened a huge swath of territory, but it also fully exposed its body.

    This was his chance.

    ‘Time to start.’

“All cannons, aim at the giant kaiju.”

The robots swiveled the barrels. Thanks to their excellent performance, the movement took only a moment.

    “Fire!”

    BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!

    The barrage began again.

The giant kaiju moved its heads, jaws opened wide to shoot crimson beams.

    BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!

Shells erupted overhead. Yooseong didn’t stop the barrage this time.

    “Keep firing! Don’t stop!”

    BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!

With the walkthrough’s modifications and the robots’ superb handling, the cannons’ rate of fire far surpassed the original model, and the sky was filled with shells.

But this was still a giant kaiju. With its many heads, it intercepted every single shell. If this kept up, they’d just be wasted.

Yooseong wasn’t about to let that happen.

    He gave a new signal.

From the hills, objects began launching—

Drones, loaded with bombs, for suicide attacks.

Like other gear, he’d brought these over from the other world and registered them for purchase, then brought them in bulk; the walkthrough had tweaked them for improved speed and range, but their attack power was only moderate. The bombs were just for show.

But because of that, he could deploy them by the hundreds. The sky turned black with drones, a sight that would intimidate any normal opponent.

    But not a kaiju.

But Yooseong never thought the kaiju would be scared of their numbers.

    ‘Those are just decoys.’

The drones, blowing themselves up, were nothing compared to shells or railguns—just child’s play—but it was still an attack.

Yooseong remembered another key bit of data from his earlier reconnaissance.

‘It doesn’t counterattack by threat level, but simply in detection order.’

It just destroyed whatever it detected first, one by one.

    BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!

The drones were blasted out of the sky by the kaiju’s beams. But there were so many and they were so scattered, the kaiju couldn’t get them all at once.

    BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!

Meanwhile, cannons fired again. Usually shells were shot down as soon as they crested the ridge, but not this time. The kaiju was too busy with all the drones to intercept the shells.

The shells arced down, on course for the giant kaiju.

But the shells weren’t the main attack either.

If the drones were wiped out early, the shells would be a secondary decoy—and a backup attack.

The real offensive was something else.

‘Kaiju hunts are all about the railguns.’

Robots waiting just below the ridge now climbed up.

They unleashed a volley of railgun fire at the giant kaiju.

Until now, robots had been wiped out by counterattacks before they could even fire a shot; this time was different.

    BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!

    All at once, railguns flashed.

Their incredible speed let them reach the giant kaiju before even the drones or shells.

    And it worked.

    BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!

    -KIEEEEAAAAH!-

Railgun rounds struck the kaiju’s body for the first time. It screamed as the crimson light stopped.

‘Thank god, its defenses aren’t strong enough to just shrug off railguns.’

Big gashes opened in its flesh and what looked like blood poured out. If he kept pounding it with railguns, he could definitely kill it.

Best of all, its heads were damaged. When hit by the railguns, the heads were blown off or severed, and couldn’t move anymore.

Since its main weapon was the crimson rays from its heads, every head lost meant fewer attacks coming back.

‘Now’s the time to take out as many heads as possible.’

Apparently in too much pain to even counterattack, the kaiju just screamed. The robots kept firing railguns even without Yooseong’s orders. Shortly after that, even the cannon shells hit.

    BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!

Massive explosions erupted on and around the kaiju’s body.

    -KYAAAAAAAK!-

Its roar rang out louder than ever.
