On stage.

As the spotlight shone on Seo-jun and all eyes were on him, there were figures moving in the shadows. They were the backup dancers who had prepared the fan meeting stage with him.

    “Wow…”

    KyAAAAAA!!!

The fan screams and the glow of light sticks filled the venue—it was no less than any idol concert.

And that natural confidence of actor Lee Seo-jun.

Even during rehearsals, the backup dancers had thought it—had the idol world missed out on a once-in-a-generation talent?

“Of course, he’s also an amazing actor.”

And good at sports, too. Not to mention that body they caught glimpses of during practice.

It felt like God had poured every ounce of talent into creating the person named “Lee Seo-jun.”

    Those wandering thoughts vanished quickly.

    Thud—!

The knocking sound returned, signaling the start of [EXIT] again.

The entire stage lit up, and the backup dancers, dressed in black, took their positions. In the center stood Seo-jun, clearly visible to the fans in a white shirt and black harness.

Hearts pounded, and hands gripped the sprout sticks tighter.

    ♬–!

Originally choreographed for five members of Blue Moon, the dance had been reworked to center around Seo-jun. The song began.

On the giant screen, Seo-jun transformed into an idol.

He found the cameras with ease and made eye contact like a pro—it really felt like he was an idol. And he dominated the stage with such natural energy, it was as if the song belonged to him.

On the screen, Seo-jun gave a cool smile and rolled his body in a wave. His flowing white shirt fluttered with the movement. For a moment, it looked like his firm skin peeked through.

    “WAAAAHHH!!”

    “Seo-jun!!”

    “Seo-jun oppa!!”

    Fans screamed uncontrollably every time.

It felt too intense for an opening act—

    But our eyes met!

    He looked right at me!!

With Seo-jun smiling into the camera from the stage, all reason disappeared. The crowd erupted in screams.

    WAAAAAH!!

Without a moment’s rest, Seo-jun jumped into his second performance.

It was another Blue Moon song, and like [EXIT], it was known for its intense choreography.

“The Vermilion boys should be watching this…”

Was this a fan meeting or an idol concert?

Seo-jun controlled the stage with such ease and command that even the singer team staff watching from the audience were stunned.

And after the two high-energy performances, when the dancers exited and Seo-jun greeted the fans with, “Hello, I’m actor Lee Seo-jun,” and a bright smile—he looked almost divine.

“Look at that. He’s not even out of breath.”

    “He’s barely sweating.”

    “His stamina is insane…”

Seeing their reactions, Choi Tae-woo smiled proudly.

    “Hello, I’m actor Lee Seo-jun.”

    WAAAAHHH!!

With his greeting, cheers and cries of “Seo-jun!” echoed from all directions. Seo-jun smiled even brighter. He seemed to glow, and the fans’ hearts pounded wildly.

“I want to ask how the stage was… Just a second.”

Seo-jun stepped lightly to the right of the stage. Cameras and fans’ eyes followed.

There stood a table and a square case. A black-and-silver hard case.

    Oh?! That’s…!

Fans widened their eyes. Anyone who had read the From Sprout notice knew what that case was.

“Because the choreography was so intense, I couldn’t use the custom mic earlier.”

With a wide grin, Seo-jun pulled out a light green custom mic and turned to the screen at the back of the stage. He angled it so the camera could clearly show the engraved sprout and laurel wreath.

“How’s that? Can you see it well?”

His voice echoed slightly, with sound coming from both the cheek mic and the handheld custom mic.

“You can turn this one off now.”

He tapped the cheek mic with his finger.

    “Ah—ah. Thank you.”

Holding the light green mic, Seo-jun asked again,

“What do you think? Isn’t this mic pretty?”

    YES!!

    UH-HUH!!

With the fans’ loud response, Seo-jun burst into laughter.

“I always thought it was pretty. Who even thought of giving me a custom mic as a gift? I might be the only actor to ever receive one.”

He held the green mic up to the camera.

“I love that it’s light green—my favorite color. I love that it has a sprout on it. And the laurel wreath? The flower language of the laurel is ‘unchanging, even in death,’ right? Isn’t that meaning beautiful?”

Fans laughed at Seo-jun’s excited voice.

His chic and sexy aura from earlier had vanished—he looked more like a kid proudly showing off a birthday present.

“So I printed the same design on the gift bag. Did you all see it?”

Kim Min-jung, surprised, picked up the paper bag she had carefully set down earlier. She hadn’t noticed in the rush, but the sprout and laurel wreath were really printed on it.

    Seo-jun smiled warmly.

“Because I’ll love my sprouts unchangingly, even in death.”

    KYAAAAAA!!

Seo-jun had flipped the fans’ hearts upside down again.

“I like the blue mic because it reminds me of Blue Moon.”

Not stopping at the green mic, Seo-jun pulled out two more from another hard case and held them up to the camera.

“The full moon and red gem—just looking at them reminds you of the MV, right? And the black mic—it looks just like the night sky. Can you see my zodiac sign and name engraved like stars?”

    Yes. We know.

    We designed it ourselves.

It felt odd, introducing gifts to the people who gave them—

But if Seo-jun’s happy, that’s all that matters.

The fans smiled fondly like doting parents.

Watching Seo-jun’s bright eyes as he explained every little detail was just too cute.

“I plan to only use these mics for fan meetings from now on.”

    WAAAAAA!!!

That not-so-subtle tease of future fan meetings sent the sprouts into a frenzy. Though… who knows if they’ll even get a seat next time.

“Oh, right. I got a little sidetracked.”

Seo-jun caught himself and made his way back to center stage. Since getting the mic, he’d been chatting off to the side.

Now, a table and chair were set up center stage—staff must have brought them in unnoticed.

Standing in front of them with the green mic, Seo-jun grinned.

“It’s so nice to meet you all, sprouts!”

    WAAAAHHH!!

Thunderous cheers filled the venue once more.

Last year’s fan meeting was a performance through the lens of Seo-jun’s characters.

This year, it was all about Lee Seo-jun himself.

    “Both are amazing!”

As Seo-jun went to change outfits for the next stage, the screen showed his practice footage.

Was it just her imagination? Or was his six-pack looking sharper every time he danced and his shirt fluttered?

Kim Min-jung gripped her light stick with both hands, heart racing.

Am I the only one thinking this?

    Am I a perv?!

“Doesn’t it seem like his body’s gotten even better?”

“Right?! I thought it was just me!”

    “WAAAAH!! Seo-jun!!”

…Relief. Everyone was thinking the same thing.

As if hearing the fans’ cries, the screen darkened and music began to play.

    “This…! It’s White’s Roger That…!”

The predecessor boy group to Blue Moon—White’s [Roger That].

Not only was it a chart-topping hit, it had also sparked the military uniform trend among idols.

    “That means…!”

    Wide-eyed sprouts watched as—

    Step. Step.

Seo-jun walked onstage in a perfectly tailored black uniform, a cap pulled low.

A staticky walkie-talkie sound buzzed, then cut off.

Seo-jun, hiding his face with the cap brim, tilted it up with a smirk.

    “Roger that.”

    KYAAAAAA!!!

That confident smile set off another round of ear-shattering screams.

    “My throat’s already gone…”

“Same. And it’s only the end of part one.”

Hearing the conversation next to her, Kim Min-jung nodded. Without the in-between talk segments, she might’ve fainted by now.

“The uniform talk segment was great too.”

Getting to chat while still in costume made it even more fun.

    “All-back hair? Wait a sec.”

Seo-jun had slicked back his hair with water on the spot—it flashed through her mind again.

    A uniform with slicked-back hair.

Even remembering it brought tears of joy.

Now it was intermission between Part 1 and Part 2.

The screen had gone dark to let everyone relax, and only the sound of a violin played.

    “It’s Seo-jun’s playing!”

A sharp-eared sprout recognized the player, and some quietly enjoyed the violin performance.

“What do you think is next?”

“Not sure. Based on the songs, it’s all Cocoa Entertainment tracks.”

“They were pretty big hits too.”

Chatting with her now ten-minute-old sprout friends, Kim Min-jung munched on drinks and snacks from the gift bag and shared goodies from other fans.

“Do you think he’ll do a play?”

    “It’s Seo-jun oppa—we bet he will.”

Everyone nodded at Kim Min-jung’s suggestion and laughed when their eyes met.

    Then, someone appeared on stage.

    Backstage.

Seo-jun, having had a light meal, tapped on his phone.

    Han Ji-ho: Doing okay?

    <Yeah. Starting Part 2 soon.

    Park Yeon-ji: Waaa! So nervous!

Kim Young-chan: Me too! I barely slept!

    <Don’t worry. You’ll do great 😊

With this fan meeting being performance-heavy, there were two breaks for a total of three parts. The play [MOEB-436] was set for Part 3.

    “But…”

As he messaged the [436] team, Seo-jun looked up.

He sensed a strange buzz in the air.

A weird sense of déjà vu.

    But he couldn’t pinpoint it.

“Is something going on, Tae-woo hyung?”

    “No. Nothing. At. All.”

    After a pause, Seo-jun spoke.

    “…Hyung, maybe don’t try acting.”

    “Didn’t plan to…”

Choi Tae-woo slumped with his face in both hands.

    Seo-jun laughed, then thought—

“Maybe it’s a fan surprise event.”

    He smiled, full of anticipation.

    Intermission ended.

Part 2 of the fan meeting began.

Wearing a cozy sweater fit for winter and a dog-ear headband gifted at the fan signing, Seo-jun stepped to center stage.

Kim Min-jung and the sprouts, breath held, screamed at the sight.

“I’m seeing this with my own eyes!”

“Seo-jun oppa really looks like a puppy!”

“I wanted to see him as a golden retriever!”

Seo-jun smiled at their reaction and waited for the music to start.

The first song of Part 2 was Red Crown’s ballad [Spring Spring].

    But no music played.

Seo-jun looked puzzled for a second, then realized—it was a surprise event.

Just then, the sprouts snapped out of their daze and shouted.

    -Seo-jun! Behind you!

    -Turn around!

    What?

Seo-jun hadn’t expected a surprise this early in Part 2. He turned around with a hopeful smile.

    And froze in place.

    …What?

Seo-jun’s eyes and mouth hung wide open in shock.
