Magic Farm 112
by CristaeChapter 112: It Was Me—What Can You Do About It?
Little Old Me hadn’t originally planned to expose My Fate Is Mine, Not Heaven’s, so soon.
That guy might be a fool, but he’d been number one for a while, triggered more than one server-wide announcement in the early days, and really did have some good stuff in his hands.
Especially after all three of his top spots were snatched away by “ILoveSurvivalGame,” the so-called Pantheon had become a hollow name, and the players’ flattery and praise for him weren’t what they used to be.
Previously, his right-hand man, I Am Very Bossy, had even publicly broken with him, making My Fate lose a great deal of face.
At a time like this, when everyone was turning their backs on him, Little Old Me’s unwavering respect and deference—never once contradicting him—seemed all the more precious.
To keep this “friend in adversity” close, My Fate Is Mine, Not Heaven’s, had indeed handed out quite a lot of good things recently.
There was still more to squeeze out of him—or so Little Old Me had thought, up until today.
But then that server-wide announcement appeared out of nowhere.
Only then did Little Old Me realize just how far “ILoveSurvivalGame” had pulled ahead of the rest of the region’s players.
As Grind King put it, while everyone else was still playing a single-player construction game, ILoveSurvivalGame had already started exploring the wider world.
How could anyone compete with that?
At this point, ILoveSurvivalGame’s progress was far beyond what an ordinary player could achieve, no matter how many leaderboards or diamond chests they won.
Little Old Me decided to throw caution to the wind and started calling him “boss” in the region chat along with everyone else.
After all, he had no shame and didn’t care about losing face. The man had genuinely earned them a green resource point—calling him “boss” was hardly an exaggeration.
He hadn’t expected My Fate Is Mine, Not Heaven’s, to see this and immediately DM him to curse him out.
He called him short-sighted, said he’d sold out for a mere trifle, called him an ungrateful dog that couldn’t be raised right.
Little Old Me: “……”
In that moment, he suddenly realized this person was even dumber than he’d thought.
Fools weren’t scary, but when someone was this foolish, it was genuinely worrisome.
He started to worry that, sooner or later, he’d get dragged down with him.
Things had come to this—he might as well take the chance to cut ties now.
[My Fate Is Mine, Not Heaven’s: Little Old Me, you dog bastard, you $^%^&%********……]
[My Fate Is Mine, Not Heaven’s: You cheated me out of my stuff and now you’re spreading rumors about me? You dog, just wait—when the resource zone opens, don’t let me catch you!]
[Little Old Me: I wouldn’t dare speak up if I didn’t have proof.]
[Little Old Me: @I Am Very Bossy, you should remember this too—didn’t My Fate once brag to us about getting a long-range attack item from his first server-wide announcement? He said it could curse a target of his choice.]
[I Am Very Bossy: That’s true, he did.]
I Am Very Bossy was stunned.
He’d said something like this himself when he fell out with My Fate.
But back then, he’d just been making things up!
Could it be that, by pure chance, he’d actually hit on the truth?
If it was true, didn’t that mean Handsome was killed by My Fate Is Mine, Not Heaven’s, that idiot?
Handsome was the first friend he’d made in Survival Game. Their IDs matched in style, their personalities clicked, and they’d gotten along well.
You could say Handsome was one of the few friends he’d made with genuine feeling.
If it really was My Fate who did it, I Am Very Bossy immediately decided to join the crusade.
[I Am Very Bossy: I said before, My Fate has always been jealous of the game boss and tried to take him down more than once. Too bad no one believed me.]
[Little Old Me: I have chat logs to prove that My Fate’s long-range attack item has already been used.]
[Serenity Leads to Distance: If that’s all, it’s not enough to prove your claim.]
My Fate Is Mine, Not Heaven’s, sneered. They were all inside Survival Game, not the real world.
As long as he didn’t admit it himself, who could convict him?
[Little Old Me: Please look at the screenshots I’ve saved. (image) (image) (image)]
[Little Old Me: After the Calamity Rain incident, many kind-hearted players in the region spontaneously donated supplies—“Timeless Style” led the way with a batch of goods. My Fate didn’t react at all at first. Only after I mentioned karma—“doing good can offset some sins”—did he immediately donate a large amount of supplies.]
[Little Old Me: That’s when I started to suspect, but I had no evidence and didn’t dare say more, for fear of falsely accusing someone.]
[Little Old Me: Until recently, I got an item.]
[Little Old Me: Info €€ Purification Flask. This item is quite magical. Water stored in the flask can cleanse negative emotions. If you pour your troubles into the water and then drink it, all negative feelings are temporarily washed away.]
[Little Old Me: But it only produces a limited amount of purified water each day. I’ve been giving it to My Fate for several days in a row now.]
That was also how he’d managed to wring so many good things out of My Fate Is Mine, Not Heaven’s.
Hearing this, My Fate Is Mine, Not Heaven’s, felt a twinge of unease.
[Little Old Me: But what he didn’t know was that, as the owner of the item, I could hear the “negative emotions” that were poured out and cleansed.]
[Little Old Me: He’s admitted more than once that he accidentally killed thousands of innocent people. He doesn’t actually feel guilty about it; it’s just that lately, since the Sunflowers of Light sold by the game boss have withered, his mental pollution at night has gotten so bad that he’s been having nightmares about it.]
[Little Old Me: Everything I’ve just revealed about “My Fate Is Mine, Not Heaven’s”—if a single word is false, may I never obtain another resource in Survival Game.]
[Little Old Me: @My Fate Is Mine, Not Heaven’s, things have come to this—do you have anything left to say for yourself?]
When Little Old Me finished speaking, the regional channel, with tens of thousands of people, fell into a strange silence.
A peculiar atmosphere enveloped the entire region.
Even those who usually loved to flood the chat didn’t dare speak lightly, waiting for the outcome.
Qi Yu was waiting, too.
[My Fate Is Mine, Not Heaven’s: Heh.]
He only typed two characters, but no one knew that, in front of his survival panel, his eyes were already bloodshot.
Things hadn’t gone well for him for a while now.
To be precise, ever since his number one spot was taken, nothing had gone right.
He’d gone to the resource zone and been humiliated by the sheer number of native martial artists there.
Back in Survival Game, the Pantheon dogs who used to flatter him now treated him with obvious indifference since he’d lost his top spot.
Then I Am Very Bossy tricked him out of his supplies and turned on him.
Then came the Swallow Points event, where he was utterly crushed—he couldn’t even hold onto second or third place.
And then, the Sunflowers of Light had withered.
Without their purifying effect, mental pollution crept in everywhere after dark in the game.
More than once, he’d dreamed of those players who’d turned to ash, coming back as monsters from the darkness of Survival Game to demand his life.
His emotions were already on the brink.
Today, “ILoveSurvivalGame” triggered another server-wide announcement, even bringing a resource point reward to the entire server.
He watched coldly as the players in the region, for a bit of petty benefit, fawned over ILoveSurvivalGame in the chat like dogs.
Even Little Old Me had joined the ranks of the bootlickers.
He snapped and cursed him out.
When he saw Little Old Me “exposing” him in the group and turning on him, his emotions finally exploded.
His whole body flushed hot, as if all his blood had rushed to his head, making his breath ragged and his eyes red.
He didn’t want to hold back anymore. He didn’t want to pretend.
They’d all betrayed him!
Everyone had betrayed him!
None of them were any good!
They all deserved to die!
[My Fate Is Mine, Not Heaven’s: It was me!]
[My Fate Is Mine, Not Heaven’s: He’s right—it was me. I used a cursed item called “Fruit of Calamity” to curse ILoveSurvivalGame to a miserable death.]
[My Fate Is Mine, Not Heaven’s: ILoveSurvivalGame deserves to die! As long as I was number one in Zone 01, no one else should have stood out. Damn Survival Game, always favoring some bootlicker ID—how does a mere farmer get to surpass me?]
[My Fate Is Mine, Not Heaven’s: Too bad the system’s item was trash—so hyped up, but it couldn’t even kill a single person.]
[My Fate Is Mine, Not Heaven’s: Those people died because they were weak—bad luck for them! What’s it got to do with me? If you want to blame someone, blame ILoveSurvivalGame. Haha, @ILoveSurvivalGame, they all died because of you.]
[My Fate Is Mine, Not Heaven’s: If I hadn’t wanted to kill you, I wouldn’t have used the Fruit of Calamity. If I hadn’t used the Fruit of Calamity, those thousands wouldn’t have died.]
[My Fate Is Mine, Not Heaven’s: @Little Old Me, you animal, I never wronged anyone like I wronged you. I know what you’re after, betraying me—you want to suck up to ILoveSurvivalGame? Think you can?]
[My Fate Is Mine, Not Heaven’s: So I admitted it—what now? Hahaha, this is Survival Game. No one can convict me, and no one can enforce any ridiculous justice. I’m still a top-ranked player, still living better than most of you!]
[My Fate Is Mine, Not Heaven’s: @ILoveSurvivalGame, I want you dead. If we ever meet in the resource zone or anywhere else, you’d better watch your back.]
[My Fate Is Mine, Not Heaven’s: Farmer, huh.]
……
[Grumpy Old Bro: Has this guy gone completely insane?]
[Serenity Leads to Distance: You’ve cost so many lives, and feel no regret or guilt at all. Retribution will come for you.]
[Reach for the Moon: @My Fate Is Mine, Not Heaven’s, you’d better pray you never run into us in the resource zone or anywhere else, or we’ll make you pay for the thousands of lives lost in our region.]
[Little Old Me: I know I did a lot of questionable things just to survive, but I know I was wrong. I hope my brothers and sisters in the region will give me a chance to start over.]
[Old Civil Engineer: What’s wrong with being a farmer? Can’t you see the farmer’s at the top of the combat rankings?]
Qi Yu didn’t speak up right away, because just then, someone messaged him privately.
It was the region’s luckiest man, Need a Little Money to Save Me.
[Need a Little Money to Save Me: Boss, let me ask you something.]
[Need a Little Money to Save Me: If you were sent to take down My Fate Is Mine, Not Heaven’s, how confident would you be?]
[ILoveSurvivalGame: ?]
[Need a Little Money to Save Me: I just got this. Info €€ One-Time Locator Card.]
[One-Time Locator Card: Enter the ID of the person you wish to locate, and it will display their exact position, as well as your distance from them.]
[Need a Little Money to Save Me: With so many people dying in the Fruit of Calamity incident, I figure we’re probably still in the same spatial region.]
