Magic Farm 133
by CristaeChapter 133: End-of-Month Rankings, Regional Top Ten
He still had three more chances to spin.
He spent another ten Encounter Fragments for a draw.
This time, he got a treasure map fragment.
[Treasure Map Fragment: Collect 100 fragments to unlock a complete treasure map. Current progress: 1/100.]
Qi Yu: Did you say one hundred?
He silently tucked the fragment into his backpack. As expected, there was no way he’d be collecting a full set any time soon.
With two spins left, he decided to use them both at once.
This time, he drew another streak of golden light.
Again, images flashed quickly before his eyes. This time, it seemed to be a gathering of many people—no, not just people.
There were humans, but also half-human, half-beast figures with furry ears and tails, green-skinned folk, and elves with pointed ears… It looked like a gathering of many races, all together, as if celebrating some festival.
Cheerful singing drifted through the air.
Qi Yu faintly caught a few words: “…to beautiful spring…wreathed in flowers…”
When he came back to himself, he guessed: was this a celebration of spring, held by many races together?
Aside from the golden light, he also drew another item:
[Gain +3 to any attribute. Would you like to allocate the points?]
Qi Yu opened his personal panel and checked his stats:
Survival ID: I Love Survival Games
Age: 19
Attack: 50
Defense: 26
Agility: 36
Spirit: 140
After a glance at his overall stats, he put all three points into his relatively low Defense.
According to Survival Game standards, whether it was item quality or chest level, gold was second only to the legendary crimson.
Yet these “any attribute” points, as good as they were, didn’t come with any special glow—while those baffling scenes did.
So, what was Survival Game trying to tell the players?
He opened the 01 Survival Squad chat:
[I Love Survival Games: I saw two scenes—one was a beautiful forest, the other was a celebration of spring with many races gathered together, singing.]
[Need a Bit of Money to Save Me: I think we might have seen the same thing! I also saw a flower-filled forest, with a bunch of kids playing with what looked like snow-white unicorns.]
[Old Brother Tumu: I didn’t get any scenes.]
[Don’t Dare Open My Eyes: Didn’t get one either.]
[Serenity: I didn’t see a scene, but I did draw a silver dagger—excellent quality, very light and beautiful, said to be crafted by elves.]
[I Love Survival Games: Did any of you get treasure map fragments?]
This time, three neat replies: “No.”
Qi Yu relayed the information.
[Don’t Dare Open My Eyes: Collect 100 to unlock a treasure map? Wow, if you don’t want us to get one, just say so.]
[I Love Survival Games: We’ll just have to take it slow.]
[Old Brother Tumu: Right now, everyone’s talking about the rankings. Some of the competition is fierce—I’ve seen the rankings go up and down all evening.]
[Need a Bit of Money to Save Me: Doesn’t matter, our boss is solidly first in all three rankings. Very reassuring.]
Tonight at midnight, the regional rankings would be finalized.
Qi Yu opened the leaderboard.
Combat Power, Shelter, Personal Wealth—he was first in all three.
Combat Power was self-explanatory. Even though his equipment wasn’t as flashy or abundant as some players’, his base stats, plus Tier 3 Mage status and the semi-divine Guardian Mage Robe, made his position unshakable.
As for the Shelter rankings, there was no contest. He was the first in the server to reach a Tier 3 shelter, not to mention the 200 energy towers, advanced towers, the Goddess of Nature statue, and so many fields, lakes, gardens, and magical plants in his territory.
Just the Tree of Life he’d recently obtained, and the sixty-six ancient war trees he’d dug up from the Star Forest, would give him untold bonuses.
As for the Personal Wealth ranking…
A friend message popped up.
[God Without Form: Look at this!]
He sent over a screenshot of the rankings.
District 88, first in Combat Power, first in Shelter, first in Wealth.
All three belonged to God Without Form.
[God Without Form: I was going to transfer the hundred thousand gold coins to you, but I’ll wait until after the rankings finalize at midnight, just in case.]
A hundred thousand gold coins—what if some sneaky player tried to snipe his spot?
[I Love Survival Games: I’ve got the same.]
He sent back a screenshot.
[God Without Form: I knew you’d be the triple crown in District 01.]
[God Without Form: You’re so strong—no one could possibly overtake you.]
[I Love Survival Games: You’re the same. Even among all those regional champions in the arena, you’re still the best.]
Dan Xingyu: Ahem! Why are you flattering me so much?
[God Without Form: Not necessarily. You’re in the arena too.]
[I Love Survival Games: But we’ll never be rivals—we’re the number one duo.]
Remembering what he’d just said, Qi Yu opened Old Brother Tumu’s chat:
[I Love Survival Games: The rankings are about to finalize. You spent fifty thousand beast crystal stones on the body-forging technique—is that okay?]
[Old Brother Tumu: Haha, don’t worry, I’d never forget something like that. Anyway, first place is definitely you, game boss. The rewards for places 2–10 are the same, so as long as I don’t drop out of the top ten, it’s fine.]
He was currently fifth on the District 01 Personal Wealth leaderboard.
You had to admit, the merchant class was truly wealthy.
Current District 01 top ten for each leaderboard:
Combat Power:
- I Love Survival Games
- Reach for the Moon
- My Fate Is My Own
- Azure Tide
- Jiangnan Misty Guest
- Grind King
- Serenity
- The More I Grind, the Harder Life Gets
- Little Old Me
- I’m So Bossy
Qi Yu was just marveling that “My Fate Is My Own” couldn’t even hold onto second place anymore, when he saw the tenth spot—“I’m So Bossy”—change to a somewhat unfamiliar ID, “Bright Moon, Gentle Breeze.”
Qi Yu thought hard and realized the name wasn’t entirely unfamiliar. If he remembered right, when the leaderboard first appeared, this player had been in the top ten.
It was just that he rarely spoke in the regional channel—or maybe Qi Yu just didn’t pay attention to the channel much.
In the 01 Squad group, aside from himself, Serenity was actually the highest on the Combat Power ranking.
And he hadn’t suddenly jumped up—he’d always been near the top.
Everyone in District 01 knew of this seventy-year-old grandpa who could still outfight a crowd of young people.
As “Cockroach Tastes Weird” once put it: Serenity is the kind of grandpa you’d see doing fifty one-armed push-ups in the park, easy as pie.
Qi Yu checked the group for the others’ rankings: Old Brother Tumu was 23rd in Combat Power, Don’t Dare Open My Eyes was 49th, and Money wasn’t even in the top hundred.
The two were very candid in the group: “Our stats are pretty average—just throwing money at equipment.”
One was a merchant, the other an alchemist—definitely not short on cash.
As for Money, he had neither much cash flow nor any impressive gear.
But he said that just being in a group with so many leaderboard big shots was already satisfying enough.
He checked the other two leaderboards.
Shelter Rankings, top ten: I Love Survival Games, My Fate Is My Own, Reach for the Moon, Jiangnan Misty Guest, Grind King, Need a Bit of Money to Save Me, I Am Lily, Little Old Me, I’m So Bossy, Old Brother Tumu.
No surprises there. Up to Money, all were players who’d earned enough points in the last Swallow event to exchange for a Tier 3 shelter blueprint.
The rest had always been near the top of the shelter leaderboard.
Finally, the Personal Wealth top ten: I Love Survival Games, Reach for the Moon, Jiangnan Misty Guest, Grind King, Old Brother Tumu, My Fate Is My Own, Little Old Me, I’m So Bossy, Don’t Dare Open My Eyes, Need a Bit of Money to Save Me.
Money’s spot didn’t look too secure—while Qi Yu was watching, “The More I Grind, the Harder Life Gets” at eleventh overtook him.
And it wasn’t just Money’s ranking that was unstable.
The top ten were relatively steady, but further down, the IDs kept shifting, especially on the Personal Wealth leaderboard.
Suddenly, an announcement popped up:
[Frequent trading detected among some regional players. To maintain leaderboard fairness, from this moment until the rankings finalize at midnight, all trades and gifts involving leaderboard standings are prohibited.]
[Cockroach Tastes Weird: Well, that’s it for the excitement.]
[Be a Good Person: Haha, never seen the trading board so lively.]
[I Am Lily: I actually think this is good—I can finally relax a little and not have to watch the clock nervously until midnight.]
[Be a Good Person: Even the leaderboard big shots get anxious?]
[Old Brother Tumu: This is about chest rewards! In our region, who besides the game boss can really rest easy?]
[I’m So Bossy: Haha, you loser. @My Fate Is My Own, can’t even hold onto second place in Combat Power, and you’ve dropped to sixth in Wealth.]
[I’m So Bossy: I’ve been meaning to say, when it comes to luck, who can beat you? If it weren’t for luck, how could you have been number one for so long?]
[I’m So Bossy: You don’t deserve your spot—your ranking will keep dropping.]
Actually, My Fate Is My Own was still in the top ten for all three rankings, and second on the Shelter leaderboard.
He’d held the top spot for a long time at the start, so his foundation was solid.
Places 2–10 all got Gold Chest rewards.
I’m So Bossy’s taunting was just for show—it didn’t mean much.
But My Fate Is My Own took the bait.
He cared a lot.
What made him even more bitter was that I’m So Bossy and Little Old Me—two people who’d betrayed him—were now in the top ten, using resources they’d once taken from him.
[My Fate Is My Own: You think getting into the top ten with my resources makes you hot stuff?]
[My Fate Is My Own: Even if I drop in the rankings, I can still crush you, loser.]
And so the argument began.
A bunch of sleepless players watched with relish.
Qi Yu wasn’t interested. He took out the treasure chests he’d collected during the day.
One Bronze Chest, six Refined Iron Chests, fourteen Wooden Chests.
He started with the Bronze Chest.
A wave of blue light surged forth.
